Have you ever wondered what happens at a Cake Smash & Splash Session?
I have a home studio in Mailors Flat where all the magic happens. Here I have a variety of backdrops and props required to create beautiful images of your child's first birthday.
We start off with some portraits of your child. These are done using the same backdrop as your cake smash.
Then we move onto the cake smash. We encourage your child to touch the cake and often they get straight into the icing! We prompt them to dig their hands into the cake and have some fun. Sometimes they aren't keen to do this and therefore we break up the side of the cake for them to see what's inside.
Once the 'smash' part is over, we move to the 'splash'. I have a toddler bath for your child to hop into. This is a great way to end the session with some fun photos, as well as cleaning up your child (who may, or may not be covered in icing!) This is often their favourite part of the session!
When is the best time to book?
It's best to book a minimum of 2 months before you would like your session to take place. This ensures that there is availability for you and also allows time for you to arrange for a cake to be made.
