You've had your baby and you take all of these beautiful photos..... and then what?
For me, I tried to keep a record of when "milestones" happened. I had been given 3 baby books as gifts and while they were super cute, they didn't give me the space I needed to write and certainly not enough space for the photos I wanted to put in. AND... the thing that annoyed me the most was that things weren't in order!! I'm such a structured person.
Along with my passion for all things photography and travel, is my passion for scrapbooking. The pic below gives you only a small idea of the albums I have in our wardrobes. It's amazing to look back on the memories we've had. I can pull these off the shelf and show my daughters the "milestones" I had in my pre-children days.
After my first daughter I scrapbooked the best I could. I kept creating beautiful pages of her first months of life.... and then I got behind and it was hard to keep up.
While pregnant with my second child I really wanted to find a way to keep up with these memories and document them in a way that suited me, especially since I didn't have time to scrapbook as I'd like.

How much you choose to document and the way in which you do it is entirely up to you.
I'm not a story writer, I like to dot point the facts! I tried to stick with the same colours throughout, except for the front cover as I coloured it while pregnant and didn't know if I was having a boy or a girl.
Where possible, I try to find time each month to sit down and sort through my photos to select the ones I need. I like to make sure there is one as a family, one with each parent, sister and the grandparents and then some of activities or milestones achieved for the month.
If my daughter hits a milestone and I don't have time to pop it in the book, I write a note and put it inside my book case (a clear case I purchased from Kmart to protect it) so I can record it when I do have time.
This book is a fun way to preserve the precious memories of your children. Whenever I add to my book, I find myself sitting down and looking through the previous pages and remembering what these moments were like. She's still so little and the memories are still fresh, but it's still beautiful to look at.
